RESUME
This article provides a detailed analysis of the written sources from Late Antiquity and seeks to refine the chronological framework for the existence of the Roman province of Dacia Mediterranea. As will be shown, this is a challenging task due to the laconic nature of the ancient authors, the necessity of working remotely with epigraphic monuments, and the reliance on transcriptions of the original evidence. Despite these limitations, the study offers new insight into the “life” of a Roman province.
